Accessibility statement

Trusted Again wants everyone who needs this kit to be able to learn about it, buy it and use it.

Our target

This website aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. The U.S. Department of Justice points businesses to WCAG as helpful guidance for making websites accessible under the Americans with Disabilities Act.

What we’ve done

  • Semantic HTML: real headings, lists, tables, buttons and links, with a skip link to the main content.
  • Everything works with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator. The interactive parts use native controls: radio buttons for “Decode your letter”, disclosure widgets for the questions, and a native dialog for enlarged sample pages.
  • Everything works with JavaScript switched off. Scripts only add conveniences, such as announcing your choice in “Decode your letter” to screen readers.
  • Text and controls meet WCAG AA contrast, text can be enlarged to 200% without loss of content, and nothing depends on color alone.
  • The one animation, a highlighter stroke on the home page, is removed if your device asks for reduced motion.
  • Images have text alternatives; the sample pages are described by their titles.

How we tested it

Before publication, every page was checked with automated tools (axe-core against WCAG 2.2 A and AA rules, Lighthouse, and an HTML validator) in Chrome at phone, tablet and desktop widths, and every interactive part was walked through with a keyboard only. We’ll repeat these checks when the site changes.

Known limitations

  • The site hasn’t yet been tested with a screen reader (such as NVDA or VoiceOver), or in Safari or Firefox.
  • The sample pages are pictures of PDF pages. Their titles are given as text, but the full text of each page isn’t.
  • We haven’t audited the kit’s PDF for screen-reader tagging. If you use assistive technology and have trouble with the PDF, the Word templates or the planner, contact us and we’ll help you get the content in a format that works for you.
  • The checkout is run by Dodo Payments on its own website, so its accessibility is outside our control. If it causes you a problem, tell us.
